Humbly and respectfully, I believe that healthful leadership skills are best honed/learned by way of selfless/healthful mentors. This is whether or not these skills are natural or nurtured. I believe that the greatest of (healthful) leaders do not actually need to lead…they are impeccable models, not unlike, as for instance (but not limited to) the headmen/women of aboriginal peoples. I believe that one aspect of how humankind may eventually broadly evolve to higher levels of insight and its practical applications, is the practical application of the notion of “No Leaders,” i.e., as set forth in the ages-old Bright Beautiful School of Thought/Ming Chia (that I teach, coach, and endeavor to follow).
Needing heroes and people to look up to as leaders (and/or simply as more important and often on pedestals) during our ADULTHOOD, can be viewed as a malady of sorts (though certainly not often the worst of maladies, necessarily). I believe that true health is taking true responsibility for one’s own health/well-being, and learning to lovingly and appreciatively look first/foremost within oneself for the ‘keys which will unlock the door’ to truly healthful objective insight and its practical applications. It is the right thing for the right healthful sake. If there is a Heaven, a ‘key to the universe,’ they are rooted in true honesty, promoting of true happiness and true freedom…but most importantly, needing less and less to hide behind.
We all already have the necessary gifts/blessings to do this. We absolutely don’t (as adults) need to look to external stimulus (i.e., outside ourselves) for the greatest of loving insight. Each of us has the so-full-of-grace ability to prompt, provoke the ‘walls of lies’ to come tumbling down! A key is in the splendid spirit of True Appreciation for what we already have (certainly!! the antithesis of blindly selfish desire and craving).
Please realize I am just sharing…NOT trying to sell or evangelize with this outlook. HOW DARE I IF IT DID (see my point?)! Oh boy! Have a benevolent altruistic sparkling spine-tingling epiphany – not on me, but by your own calling. It may be a ‘glimpse of Heaven.’ — Dr. Glen Hepker
